Meet your host: Chef João
“
Food is love. I learned this
from my grandmother Benvinda.
Now I share it with others.
Born and raised in Lisbon, João has followed in his grandmother Benvinda´s footsteps. Benvinda liked nothing more than expressing love through the food she cooked, and the people she shared it with around her dining table.
João used to work as an architect, but life changed in 2010 when he took a cookery course. By 2016 he was cooking delicious home food in his kitchen and delivering it door to door. In 2018 he opened his own boutique restaurant, Solo.
In 2022 he came across this wonderful warehouse that he turned into his own cooking studio.

Located in the historical center of the city, in the vibrant neighborhood of Bairro Alto, right on the edge of stunning Príncipe Real, a must-visit for anyone travelling to Lisbon.
Our space was made for connection. There’s a large cooking station on a kitchen island where everyone can gather around, and a long dining table, perfect for enjoying group meals, shoots and special moments.

Can I book a private event?

Yes. All our experiences are private and designed for individual groups, whether it’s a team-building event, celebration, or special occasion. You’ll have the studio and Chef João all to yourselves.
How many people can attend?

We host groups of 6 to 25 guests. For special requests or larger teams, please contact us — we may be able to accommodate.
What’s included in the price?

Which days are available?

We offer flexible scheduling throughout the week, including weekends.
Availability depends on the calendar — please reach out early to secure your preferred date.
In what language is the experience held?

The experience is held in English. Chef João is also fluent in Portuguese, and can accommodate bilingual groups when needed.
What if I have dietary restrictions?

We’re happy to accommodate most dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or allergies.
